For a glorious five year period spanning 1928 to 1933, the Coventry firm of Rudge Whitworth were to be dominant in the three racing classes; 250, 350 and 500cc. Their path of development was different from all their competition in so far as they spent vast sums of money on refining their existing four valve configuration rather than adopting the overhead camshaft engine. Perhaps the peak of this development was the fully radial cylinder head which, when functioning as its maker intended, gave a performance which even today is still winning speed events.
The machine offered today is a 350cc example featuring all the correct parts i.e. twin filler fuel and oil tanks, twin float 'T.T.' carburettor and the handlebar operated steering damper and it is an older restoration which will need re-commissioning prior to being used in anger.
The frame and engine numbers on the machine are something of a mystery. Frame number 10 would indicate an ex works provenance however at H&H though, we would not be so bold as to suggest this as fact without some documentary evidence to support it so for the time being the history of this machine is lost in the mists of time.
This is still though a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Rudge racer or T.T. replica.
