The forerunner of the Ferrari 365GTC, the 330GTC was first unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Salon. A 4-litre version of Ferrari's celebrated Colombo-designed V12 powered a relatively short-wheelbase chassis fitted with independent suspension all round through wishbones and coil springs with disc brakes retarding all four wheels. The spacious and rather understated 2+2 GT coachwork came from the Pininfarina studio.
Virtually identical in appearance to the 330GTC apart from engine cooling vents relocated to the bonnet, a feature shared with the final 330s, the 1969-launched 365GTC was again shown for the first time on the Geneva stand. An enlarged to 4.4-litre V12 boosted mid-range torque and flexibility as well as increased maximum power to 320bhp at 6600rpmn and top speed potential to over 150mph. A more refined drive-train was responsible for a much needed reduction in cockpit noise.
On offer here is a 365GT 2+2 with bodywork in marrone and cream interior, reportedly both in good condition. The 4.3-litre 12-cylinder engine is in very good order, says the vendor, and the same goes for the 5-speed manual transmission. The owner, one of several French enthusiasts to have looked after this Italian GT throughout its 121,518 kilometres since it left the Italian factory in 1969, tells us it would appear always to have been well treated. If you are successful in your bidding, you could be kind to it too!
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
