The 1965-manufactured 1200cc VW Beetle being offered here is a genuine low mileage example with just verifiable 35,200 miles indicated when entered for the sale. Always garaged from new and clearly meticulously maintained, the car was owned by just one owner between 1965-1978, during which time it was preserved in dry storage.
Carrying the original FAB registration, and with original sale document and owner's manual, the Deluxe saloon has never been restored or repainted and still has the original engine, gearbox and clutch. All the seats, interior fixtures and fittings, even the headlining and rare bambus parcel shelf, are all original, too, and are said to be as new. The car still has 6v electrics.
Since acquisition by the vendor in 1999, approved marque specialist Colin Hollyoak of Wright and Hollyoak, Tamworth, have maintained the car, adding rear seat belts to accommodate child's seats and a period-correct Empi chrome and wood roof rack, shot-blasting and resealing the underside and waxoyling the bodywork, and renewing the battery, all five tyres and the carpets. An extraordinary Beetle in truly excellent condition.
