Lot details Registration No: SKS 18 Chassis No: DB41137R Mot Expiry: None
The DB4 was introduced in 1958 with a touring Superleggera aluminium over steel body and an all new 240bhp alloy power unit that could reach top speeds of 140mph and a 0-60 speed of 8.5 seconds. It also spawned the now famous DB4 GT and one of the most collectable and expensive cars in the world - the DB4 GT Zagato.
Of all the potential formats one could have, the Vantage with the manual transmission was the one to have and today we have an example with that specification that has been turned into a very successful racecar. Always highly desirable this was last raced in 1999 where it started and finished in all seven races it entered in the Aston Martin Championship. It finished fourth overall and first in its class, due in part to the four litre engine, which was race prepared by Aston Engineering of Derby to deliver approximately 360bhp, and also to the fact that it has been completely set up for racing with modified rear suspension, uprated brakes, alloy foam filled petrol tank, the full roll cage and everything else that is needed to put a car on the front of the grid.
Privately entered, this is a stunning car, which is ready once again to take its rightful place at the front of the grid.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
