Dating from 1936, they were in fact only produced for two years, the Series II 12/48 Saloon was effectively the same as its predecessor the 10/40 apart from the fact that it had a larger engine. Carburation on both models was by SU but it had hydraulic brakes and dampers, 12 volt electrics and grease gun chassis lubrication and believe it or not it was still possible to get bespoke coachwork on your Wards End product.
The particular example we have for you today is in very high quality original condition and we believe it to have had only four owners from new. It has completed a warranted 97,000 miles in that time and has come direct to the sale from a film company where it has been used in the feature film Dark Blue World, which was directed by the Oscar winner Jan Svelak.
This is an extremely rare car in lovely order throughout, which comes complete with its V5 registration document, which confirms the highly desirable registration number that accompanies this car.
Please note: Our engineer has noticed that the exhaust is blowing on this car.
