Lot details Registration No: AER 774 Chassis No: KN0332 Mot Expiry: None
This wonderful 1935 K3/KN sports replica, with the Marshall Compressor, is based on a shortened KN chassis to the original K3 standard measurements. It was built by Peter Long in America between 1973 and 1984 at the same time as he was restoring an original example and this probably explains the accuracy of the detailing of the car. It sports the lovely Mille Miglia body, which was manufactured along with the petrol tank and many other parts specifically for this car. We are led to believe that the engine could in fact be an original unit.
In 1994 the engine had a complete overhaul with Mahle pistons; in 1995 the Wilson pre-selector gearbox, the dynamo and magneto were overhauled and in 1996 a new differential was fitted to Klingenberg profile.
It has successfully competed in the 1993 Klausen Memorial rally in Switzerland; the 1994 Deutschland 2000km Eiffel-Klassik; the 1995 Mille Miglia - entrant number 106; 1996 Neige et Glace in France; the 1998 Elba rally; the 1999 Bavarian Rally and the Innsbruck Classic - quite a track record!
This lovely car, with a great pedigree, is a must for any serious collector and it comes with the German title photographs on various rallies and a list of all the work that was carried out.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
