Unusual and interesting item being a book with leather edges and spine entitled 'The First Aero Engine Made By Rolls-Royce Limited'. Marked 'Confidential', 'The property of Rolls-Royce Ltd' and 'Not to be shown to anyone without the authority of the directors' to the front cover. Contains a collection of all the memoranda and letters written between 1914 and 1916 by Henry Royce in connection with the design, testing and manufacture of the first Rolls-Royce aero engines and was compiled and published in book form by the company directors as an example to future Rolls-Royce engineers of extreme care, foresight and analytical thought. Slight rubbing to covers but contents very good, a fascinating and rare item.
