Chassis No: WPOZZZ93ZK5020217
Mot Expiry: June 2012

In the early '70s, Porsche had designs on racing a turbocharged version of the 911. A subsequent change in the rules negated the need for a precise number of street legal vehicles, but the company continued with the project anyway - the Porsche 911 Turbo (930) was born. The 930 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show of 1974 and produced from 1975 to 1989, during which time it was the fastest production car available on the German market. It was based around the Carrera 3.0RS. Initially, power output was 260bhp, but from 1978 it was increased to 300bhp by raising the engine capacity to 3.3-litres. To accommodate the extra performance over the 3.0RS, the 930 sported revised suspension, larger brakes and a more robust gearbox. Delivery of power to the road was aided by a 'whale tail' rear spoiler, while a wider rear wheel/tyre package was squeezed under specially flared arches.

The beautifully presented right-hand drive 930 Cabriolet offered was first registered on August 1st 1989, so is equipped with the more powerful 3.3-litre engine that's coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. It sports Baltic Blue Metallic coachwork, while the interior features electrically-operated, two-tone Navy and Cream leather sports seats. The most recent of the car's nine keepers retained it for nine years, during which time the engine is said to have been thoroughly overhauled (2004); the underside steam cleaned, Waxoyl applied, alternator replaced (2009); head gasket and fuel pump replaced (2010); 51,168 mile service, battery, oil cooler and rear window replaced and headlining retrimmed (2011).

This rare car is offered complete with 'WOU 911' registration; Tracker; Thatcham Cat1 alarm/immobiliser; central locking; electrically-operated hood; Sony CD/radio; adjustable headlamps; electric windows; leather wallet with original service book, manuals, leaflets etc; original tool kit and tonneau cover; two sets of keys; 16 old MOTs and one valid into June.
