Lot details Registration No: YP 2116 Chassis No: 12/50 9762 Mot Expiry: None
Alvis is one of the great names of English motoring and YP 2116 was owned by a gentleman in Suffolk for many years. Apart from the first few years of his ownership the car was dismantled and awaiting restoration, which was only undertaken relatively recently by a gentleman from Worcestershire.
During the rebuild the original small port head was found to be suspect and was replaced with a new 'club' big port cylinder head at great expense and twin vintage bronze bodied SU carburettors were sourced and rebuilt to Alvis specification and have been fitted together with a suitable extractor exhaust manifold. The gearbox has been fitted with a set of close ratio gears and indeed the car will require careful running in to get full use out of the cars performance.
It has recently been re-sprayed deep cherry red colour and this lovely car, which has been known to the Alvis Club and the 12/50 Register for many years has new tyres all round, a large file of paperwork and a new black double duck tonneau but indeed the original hood frame and side screens have unfortunately been lost over the years, but obviously are available from specialists.
A great car with a lovely future.
