The Laser company was formed by two of the senior design engineers from Reynard, the celebrated chassis constructors, who believed that they could create a racing car that could compete with the much more established players. The unqualified success they later achieved proved that they were right in their ambition.
This particular example, which dates from 1983, comes with the Burton cross-flow engine 1600cc four-cylinder engine and the Hewland five speed gearbox. Being of fibreglass construction it is extremely light and so the power to weight ratio ensures that it really picks its heels up on the track or up the hill.
We understand that the bodywork has been completely restored recently and that the engine and gearbox are very strong indeed and the whole car is ready to race.
This rare but desirable single seater is ideal for a variety of Historic Formula Ford races and a host of other events and this surely has to be the most economical way of entering Motorsport.
PLEASE NOTE: We have not had this vehicle running.
