Fabbrica Automobili Lancia was founded in 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia, who set up on his own after learning the car business with Ceirano. Like other sporting Italians however, the debt laden marque was absorbed into Fiat in 1969.
This Pininfarina-styled coupe, a 1983-built Montecarlo, relatively rare in right hand drive, was supplied to the West Country owner by Lancia marque specialist Richard Thorne. The entrant claims that it was a well sorted example which has always been well maintained since purchase - as substantiated by lots of bills in the history file detailing work carried out.
Apart from a couple of spots on one nearside rear wing, the fixed head bodywork in black is otherwise described as being good, as is the beige interior. Both 2-litre four and 5-speed gearbox are reportedly in very good order. Four tyres have been renewed and a stainless steel exhaust fitted. The 59,500 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total. The MOT is current until October.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has been withdrawn from the February sale but will be entered into the April sale at Buxton.
