The Escort, from the world's second largest motor manufacturer, came at a time when in Britain Ford sold more than twice the number of cars as their largest rival and that would have been British Leyland. It came with an almost infinite range of engines sizes and was a superb car for every occasion and won numerous races and rallies.
This is an original 1300 GT two-door saloon, which was manufactured in December 1967, and there is a letter in the history file from Benfield Ford who was the supplying dealer. Over the years it has been modified and given a full roll cage, four driving spotlights, adjustable suspension, strengthening bars under the bonnet and mini light copy wheels, a new exhaust and a new alternator have been fitted recently as well as having the gearbox reconditioned.
It has been described by the vendor as being in good condition but also lots of fun to drive and it benefits from having a strengthened body shell, four harnesses and a number of spares, but these must be collected from the vendor after the sale.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
