Deluxe Giclee stretched canvas artwork, hand-finished with lustre protective coating for deep colours and intense realism. Stirling Moss in the Mercedes W196 leads Ascari's Lancia D50 and Trintignant's Ferrari 625 through the Station Hairpin. Hawthorn's Vanwall will shortly retire with a broken throttle linkage. Moss's retirement on lap 81 and then Ascari's fateful plunge into the harbour after brake failure hands the lead to a surprised Maurice Trintignant, who went on to win and become the first Frenchman to achieve a victory in the World Championship. It also gave Ferrari their only F1 grand prix victory of 1955. Ferrari did not win again at Monaco for another 20 years. 56x68cm
