Moto Guzzi was established in 1921 by three friends from the Italian Air Corps and is Europe’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production, based in the same factory in Mandello del Lario overlooking Lake Como ever since. After mainly producing single-cylinder designs for their road bikes, Moto Guzzi launched the 750cc V7 in 1969, to satisfy the demand for larger capacity bikes and the iconic transverse shaft drive V-twin layout has now become Guzzi's signature design, with the sporty Le Mans models becoming the most sought-after model. The V35 and V50 models were launched as lightweight versions of the bigger capacity V-twins, introducing an entirely new group of riders to the mystique and cachet of the Moto Guzzi brand.
This 1981 Moto Guzzi V50 has had just four previous owners from new, and is a mostly original machine. 'OFC 910W' is offered with a file full of receipts for work carried out over the years and many old MOT certificates going back to 1984. The Guzzi has not been used for a couple of years and will need some light recommissioning before putting it back on the road again. To be sold without a reserve.
