Lot details Registration No: SIJ 38 Chassis No: 87755 Mot Expiry: Sept 2001
This exceptional 1966 Jaguar MkII 3.8 manual saloon was originally exported to South Africa. It returned to the UK in 1989 and was given a full nut and bolt rebuild and bare metal respray by Status Cars, the Jaguar specialists from Coventry. All the work undertaken, detailed in the history file but far too copious to list here, was done to an exceptionally high standard and included many up to date features such as power steering, a five speed manual gearbox, a sports clutch, uprated brakes and a very sporty big bore stainless steel exhaust.
With the present owner it has been a concours winner many times and has been on show at the N.E.C. and G-MEX Classic car shows. When not in use it is kept in a de-humidified garage and inside a 'Carcoon' cover which has kept it in pristine condition.
A very serious car for the person who wants the best and it is being sold with its cherished registration number and the insurance valuation of £35000.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
