By Art Collection Auto of France. A fabulously well detailed and immaculately constructed scratch built metal model of this most famous of pre-war racecars. Presented on polished black plinth with perspex dust cover.
The magnificent detailing includes a working steering system from the four spoke wood-rimmed wheel. An opening bonnet with authentic piano hingeing and working leather securing straps reveals a fully detailed engine block and ancillaries including articulated oil and fuel pumps and in itself contains over 78 individual parts. The cockpit features a turned aluminium dashboard with individual instrumentation each fully detailed down to the 'Bugatti' insignia. On the exterior the car rides on the famous flat spoked aluminium wheels with separate rubber tyres and articulated brakes. The wheels are removable to view the full brake suspension detailing. The intricacies also include a working handbrake mechinism, mesh windshield, honeycomb grille and starting handle. The seating is stitched and padded. Stamped '87' to underside together with signature of creator, Jean Paul Fontenelle.
Art Collection Auto are a French company who specialise in making 1:8 scale models of Bugatti cars. All models are built to special order only and take over six weeks to complete.They are scratch built from bare metal and in the case of this T35 over 460 individual parts are used. Art Collection Auto also pride themselves in using screws throughout and no glue. The main materials used in the construction of this model are steel, brass. aluminium, wood, leather alloy and rubber. The french racing blue paint is polyurethene based and in itself takes over 11 days to finish and apply, with stunning result. The model itself is 47cm long and the display case 58cm long. A magnificent representation of a classic design.
