The Mustang, the original 'ponycar', was Detroit's greatest single success in the 1960's. About six months ahead of the model year 1965 it lifted Ford's volume by well over 500,000 units and set an all time record for first year new model sales at no fewer than 681,000 cars.
This particular example is one of the later Mustangs and dates from 1988 and was imported from California by the present owner last year. It is the rare injection car fitted with the fully powered convertible hood and naturally being an American car is still in its left hand drive format and comes with air conditioning as standard. The odometer reading of 80,000 miles is believed to be genuine from new and we are informed that the car will do 30-35 miles per gallon on unleaded fuel and has the manual five speed transmission.
It is described as being in good condition throughout and would seem to be an awful lot of car for very little money indeed.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
