The Chevrolet Master Series proved to be a rugged design as it was the favoured choice, in coupe form, of one Juan Manuel Fangio who contested no less than eighteen long-distance road races in South America during the decade 1939-1949. His first victory in his ‘stock’ Chevrolet Master Six Coupe was in 1940 when he won the gruelling Gran Premio Internacional del Norte, a 1,550 mile marathon, which ran from Argentina through Bolivia to Peru. This overall victory set Fangio on the road to Europe, and worldwide fame. This and many other conquests in the same make and model of car stood testament to the rugged capabilities of this Chevrolet design and bodes well for the new owner of this RHD model, recently imported from the dry climate of South America.
Whilst not yet registered in the U.K, this Chevrolet Master Six Sedan has been subject to an older renovation and since arriving on our shores and has since undergone a process of re-commissioning including a gearbox overhaul and servicing. The car is now in possession of an MOT certificate, which should make the registering of this car in the UK a straightforward process. This particular example is all the more impressive as it retains its rare and original factory steel sun visor.
