Willys made cars all over the world and although the main factory was in Toledo, Ohio they were also made at Crossley in Manchester for sale in the UK and in Northern Ireland. The Whippet was basically small and light with a track width of 4ft 8½ins, which enabled it to be used on the railways, as they often were in the 1920's.
This original right hand drive model is believed to have come from Chile or Uruguay and since being completely restored by the present owner has only been used for weddings and as a mode of transport for him to attend vintage and classic car shows. It comes with the artillery wheels, new mohair side screens, the tonneau covers and hood covers and new hood sticks to the hood frame and the upholstery and trim are in dark brown hide and the instruments are all original and are all working.
This superb example is a simple and straightforward touring car that was the fore-runner of the Willys Jeep and has always been a right hand drive car and comes with four wheel brakes.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
