For most its existence, the Birmingham Small Arms Company was the UK's largest motorcycle manufacturer. Indeed, in the immediate postwar years, when the once mighty and now sadly long gone Small Heath works turned out over 75,000 machines in a good year, BSA was actually the world's number one bike maker.
As well as making the legendary Gold Star 4-stroke single, which was successful both as a cafe racer for the road as well as in the Clubmans TT on the IOM, their Bantam 2-stroke proved to be a hot with commuters.
Offered here is a prewar B20, a 250cc sidevalve engined model which was last restored in 1985. The owner acquired the machine some twenty years ago for nostalgic reasons as he had owned an identical bike as a lad. He tells us that he has never used his Beeza on the road and that the registration number displayed is the one he had on his original so it cannot be used. Current cosmetic condition is described as excellent.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
