Comprehensively restored from the frame up
Fully overhauled suspension and running gear
A rare opportunity to acquire a KT250 restored to this level
In the early 1970s Kawasaki looked to British trials ace Don Smith to help create a machine that could carry the marque into the highly specialised world of observed trials. The result, launched for the 1975 season, was the KT250 — Kawasaki’s first dedicated trials motorcycle and now one of the most characterful machines of its era. Blending Smith’s expert input on geometry and engine feel with Kawasaki’s robust engineering, the KT250 delivered a smooth, tractable power delivery, distinctive styling and a surprisingly agile chassis. While it never chased headline championship results, its charm, usability and unmistakable Kawasaki personality quickly earned it a loyal following. Today the KT250 is appreciated as an engaging and increasingly sought-after classic that captures the spirit of 1970s trials riding.
This particular KT250 has been the subject of a comprehensive, frame-up restoration carried out to an exceptionally high standard, with approximately 99% of components sourced as New Old Stock. The forks have been re-chromed and overhauled with new internals, and every bearing, bush and cable on the machine has been renewed. The original tank and side panels have been retained, preserving the correct period appearance, while the engine has undergone a complete refresh including a new crank, con-rod, piston and associated components. Having covered only 1.2 miles since completion, the engine will require the usual running-in, but the machine is effectively presented in near-fresh condition and is ready to be enjoyed immediately. A rare opportunity to acquire a KT250 restored to this level.
