Motor Car Location: Greater London

  • Current family ownership since c.1970 when purchased by the vendor's late father
  • Restored in the 1970s before being used for shows and events locally
  • Dry-stored in a garage for approximately 30 years
  • A tempting and worthy restoration/recommissioning project

Morgan’s three-wheelers were known for being well-designed and well-built, proving remarkably capable in racing with a Gold Medal in the 1911 London-Exeter-London Reliability Trial with HFS Morgan himself at the helm. Early Morgan three-wheelers were typically fitted with a front-mounted, air-cooled V-twin motorcycle engine powering the single rear wheel via a two or three-speed transmission and a chain final drive. Different models could seat one, two, or four people, and cars could be ordered with a folding roof for wet weather driving.

This four-seat Family Model was manufactured in 1934 and is powered by a Matchless 0.9-litre V-twin engine. Finished in the attractive colour scheme of Blue with Red wire wheels and a Blue interior trim with a wooden dash. Entering into current family ownership in c.1970 and subsequently restored by the vendor’s late father, the Morgan was used for shows and events locally for several years.

Placed into dry storage approximately 30 years ago, the Morgan is now offered as a tempting and worthy restoration or recommissioning project. Equipped with a manual transmission, dual exhaust, and the aforementioned wire wheels, the 3-Wheeler is offered with a small history file including technical literature and V5C document. The mudguards and headlamps are present with the Morgan, albeit are not currently fitted.
