Motor Car Location: Cheshire

  • Exceptionally rare and sought-after Imola Yellow example with Black leather interior
  • 88,000 miles from new
  • Current registered ownership since 2018 and only four former keepers
  • Desirable Quattro model with manual transmission

The Type 8N (Mk1 TT) was launched as a Coupé in September 1998, followed by a roadster in August 1999. Based on the Volkswagen Group A4 platform as used for the Volkswagen Golf Mk4, the original Audi A3, the Skoda Octavia, and others, the styling differed little from the concept, except for slightly reprofiled bumpers, and the addition of rear quarterlight windows behind the doors. Factory production commenced in October 1998, with the Audi TT nominated for the North American Car of the Year award for 2000. It was also on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 2000 and 2001.

The TT Quattro offered was supplied new to the United Kingdom, being first registered on the 1st of January 2002. Fitted with the 1781cc straight-four 20-valve turbocharged engine with power reaching the tarmac via Audi’s hallmark Quattro four-wheel drive system and a six-speed manual gearbox. The Audi is finished in the very scarce and striking colour combination of Imola Yellow (LY1C) with a Black leather interior upholstery, ‘YS51 LWJ’ has covered c.88,000 miles from new and has a mere five owners, residing in current ownership since 2018.

Offered with the original stamped service book which displays ten services, the Audi is also offered MOT history, a current no advisory MOT certificate until March 2023 and a current V5C document. Smart Mk1 TTs are becoming increasingly difficult to find in well preserved and unmodified condition, and this email in a very rare colour combination and sensible mileage seems an appealing prospect.
