Introduced in 1992, the Sprite was arguably the purist’s MK6 Mini. Riding on steel wheels and sporting a black grille and matching wheelarch extensions, its ‘pared back’ aesthetic extended to a simple ‘two dial’ instrument cluster. Initially powered by a carburettor-fed 1275cc A-Series engine allied to four-speed manual or automatic transmission, it promised near 90mph performance. Updated with single-point fuel injection during 1994, the Sprite remained a staple part of the range until the arrival of the MK7 two years later.

Further benefiting from a ten-inch wheel conversion, the diminutive saloon rides on Cosmic alloys that were shod with fresh tyres and had its shock absorbers renewed too. A Clubman-type steering wheel accentuates the period look, while under the bonnet the 1275cc A-Series engine boasts a SU carburettor and electronic ignition. Reportedly maintained by a Mini specialist, ‘L966 DCK’ is further understood to have been kept garaged.
