The sleek super-formed aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also had significant influence from the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third-generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 engine with a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using super-formed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. Individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform, are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets, providing a lightweight but stiff ‘backbone’. The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand-etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.

Supplied new via Lancaster Aston Martin of Sevenoaks on 6th June 2006, GN06 GHX was specified in the attractive colour scheme of Meteorite Silver over Black Cherry Leather with 15 Spoke 'Speedline' Alloy Wheels and a Black Mohair Hood. The original Aston Martin service book displays a full ten stamps by Lancaster Sevenoaks up to 33,507 miles plus an extra eleventh at 39,366 miles in 2017 that is stamped in the extra pages and matching yearly corrosion inspections. Displaying just under 42,000 miles from new, this fabulous Aston has only been in the custodianship of two owners - the vendor acquiring the car from the original owner in September 2016. The vendor advises that he has used the car very little (having acquired the car at approximately 35,000 miles and due to his extensive collection of much older classics, he finds that he prefers to use them and the Aston is getting left in the garage far too often.

The vendor describes the overall cosmetic condition to be 'very good' with only very minor paint defects due to stone chips now being an 18 year old car and the nearside front alloy having a chip due to an altercation with a kerb previously. The vendor states that mechanically, the car is 'very good' and the Sportshift transmission is 'very smooth and a great match for the superb V12 engine'.
