Turning the Page: A New Chapter for H&H Classics

27/02/2024     General News

After thirty-one successful years, Simon Hope leaves H&H Classics and the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) to pursue his many other passions.

H&H Classics has solidified its position as a pioneer in the industry, boasting unrivalled expertise and an impressive track record of auctions for both cars and motorcycles.

Many of these were huge milestones in the industry such as the Ferrari 250 GT SWB and the Brough Superior SS80 ‘Old Bill’ plus setting world record prices for iconic competition cars and vehicles with royal provenance.

With a strong team of enthusiasts, under Simon's leadership, H&H has become synonymous with excellence, integrity and passion for all things classic and collectable in the world of cars and motorcycles.

Reflecting on his decision Mr Hope said: ‘I am immensely proud of the company’s achievements. From humble beginnings, it has grown to become one of only five auction houses to have ever sold a motorcar for more than $11,000,000. I won’t pretend to know the almost 80,000 clients it has amassed globally since 1993 but I have gained some true friends and had more than my fair share of memorable moments both on and off the rostrum. I am very proud of bringing H&H to where it is now and I look forward to spending more time with my family, and racing my 1954 Maserati 250F.”

Looking ahead, H&H remains committed to upholding its legacy and providing clients with the highest level of service.

H&H Classics’ Managing Director Colette McKay added: “I am extremely confident that the team can continue blazing the trail that Simon established for us as well as taking the brand in new directions. We have secured considerable investment recently and are very much looking forward to the future”.

With a team of passionate specialists who share a deep-seated love for classic automobiles and motorcycles, they will continue to set the standard for excellence in the industry.

New commercial partner Stewart Davies comments: “I have been a client of H&H Classics for several years and welcome the opportunity to fund the next stage in its development. I have got to know everyone from the receptionist through to the MD and believe that there is a lot of untapped potential among the staff”.

As Simon Hope bids farewell to H&H Classics, his legacy of expertise and passion will endure, inspiring generations of enthusiasts and collectors for years to come.
