Stunning classics worth more than £9 million offered in 30th anniversary auction

  • Over 230 lots assembled for spectacular 30th anniversary sale on 20 September.
  • Lots include stunning classic, collector and performance cars, a share in a flying boat, desirable number plates and a celebrity restored boat.
  • Total estimated value exceeds £9 million for this special, celebration event.

 

In one of its largest and most stunning auction catalogues ever produced, H&H Classics will be offering a spectacular collection of more than 200 lots worth over £9 million at its 30th anniversary sale on 20 September, at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

Such is the diversity of the sale that as well as offering a host of classic cars such as a 1938 Lagonda V12 Le Mans Replica Sports Tourer estimated at £180,000 - £200,000, 1953 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage estimated at £140,000 - £180,000, and 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL expected to fetch £140,000 - £160,000, there’s also a 1/25 share in a 1943 Catalina Flying Boat 'Miss Pick Up' estimated at £22,000 - £28,000, and a 1958 14' Windermere Clinker 'Hafren', meticulously restored on Edd China’s ‘Workshop Diaries’ YouTube show, estimated to fetch £8,000 - £14,000.

“Our upcoming auction promises to be a fantastic celebration of H&H’s 30th anniversary,” comments Colette McKay, managing director, H&H Classics. “We’re incredibly proud of the quality, quantity and diversity of the collection on offer. It is rightly fitting for such an occasion and is a fantastic representation of what H&H has achieved during its first 30 years.”

Indeed, the cars on offer come from 52 manufacturers around the world, including the oldest lot, a 1920 Ford Model T Tourer estimated at £9,000 - £12,000, through to the most modern, a 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP expected to sell for £18,000 - £22,000. British classics such as the 1965 Bentley S3 Continental Flying Spur Saloon estimated to fetch £110,000 - £130,000, and a 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe expected to sell for £140,000 - £160,000, are well represented as are examples of classic Americana, including a 1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback estimated at £85,000 - £95,000, and 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 estimated at £22,000 - £26,000.

Meanwhile, for those looking for a more modern addition to their collection, there is a rare LS3 development 2013 TVR Tuscan Vulcan estimated at £70,000 - £80,000, an unmolested LHD 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth with just 43,125 miles estimated to fetch £48,000 - £55,000, and a rare manual transmission 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S expected to sell for £25,000 - £28,000.

Among some of the other classics being offered for sale are a 1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider featuring a factory-approved RHD conversion expected to fetch £80,000 - £100,000, and a 2010 Ferrari California with only 32,209 miles from new, estimated to sell for £60,000 - £70,000.

H&H Classics 30th anniversary sale takes place from 10am on Wednesday 20 September at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Viewing of the lots is available from 9am as well as between 1pm – 8pm on Tuesday 19th.

Those attending the auction will be able to enjoy special celebrations including a drinks reception, live music, and special guest speakers. Successful bidders will also receive a special anniversary hamper with their purchase.

32,209 miles and loaded with optional extras, this 2010 Ferrari California estimated at £60,000 - £70,000, is sure to gain much interest.

 

 

 

One of just 562 and estimated to fetch £140,000 - £160,000, this rare 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was built in RHD and features very low mileage.  


The 1953 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage, hailing from the prestigious late Jens Pilo collection, epitomises British design and engineering and is expected to sell for £140,000 - £180,000.
