A 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III with movie, and famous owner, connections is set to play a starring role when it is auctioned by H&H Classics at its first sale of 2026.
Estimated at £35,000-£45,000, the luxury saloon which featured prominently in ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ alongside Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek in 2023, will go under the hammer on Wednesday 18th March at Kelham Hall in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
However, its association with the world of cinema goes much further back as it was first owned by the producer, director and studio owner Kenneth Shipman, a pillar of the British film industry who also had A-list celebrities as personal friends, which is most likely why it was built with a bespoke paparazzi-friendly interior.
Away from the silver screen, this fine example of the final evolution of the Rolls-Royce Cloud Series, was also owned by the businessman and Honorary Vice President of Chelsea Football Club, Philip Carter, who was a lifelong supporter of the football club.
Damian Jones, director at H&H Classics, said: “This wonderful 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III has a fascinating history, starting with its first custodian Kenneth Shipman who had the car trimmed to special order with more camera flash friendly leather replacing the highly polished, and reflective, wood veneers such as on the dashboard.”
The car has also benefitted from significant past expenditure which saw some £80,000 worth of restoration in 2019.
More recently it has graced the frontage of the current vendor’s eateries and is now offered for sale with restoration invoices, handbook and assorted paperwork.
Damian added: “Our first auction of 2026 is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a special Rolls-Royce with a notable history. It’s also thrilling to be returning to Kelham Hall which will host three of our eleven auctions this year.”
All lots will be available to view in person at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire, from midday on Tuesday 17th and from 9am on Wednesday 18th March, while the sale then commences at 12pm.
Anyone looking to bid on one of the lots can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid, while for more details about any of the cars or to register to bid, visit www.handh.co.uk.
