Immaculate concours Jaguars among prized lots at H&H Classics’ Buxton auction

  • Two concours competition winning Jaguars from 1966 and 1973 are going under the hammer with H&H Classics
  • One of the Jaguars has competed four times in the Jaguar Drivers’ Club Champion of Champions and the other is a multiple Concours d’Elegance winning example
  • The Pavilion Gardens Sale takes place in Derbyshire on Wednesday 30th July and also includes rare and low-mileage classics

A pair of multiple concours competition winning classic Jaguars are among many prized lots being auctioned by H&H Classics on Wednesday 30th July at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire.

The older winning entry is a 1966 Jaguar MkII 3.4, estimated at £35,000-£45,000.

With more than 20 concours competition victories to its name, it is a four-time entrant to the prestigious and strictly invitation only Jaguar Drivers’ Club Champion of Champions concours event, underlining the car’s desirability, quality and condition.

Indeed, its winning pedigree can be seen with elegance on the outside that is matched by an interior which oozes sophistication thanks to stylish instrumentation, rich wood veneers and sumptuous leather.

What’s more, the car is fitted with a desirable four speed manual overdrive gearbox and offered with a large history file and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT) certificate.

It will be joined on the champions ‘podium’ by a 1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster, another previous multiple Concours d’Elegance winning example.

Estimated at £65,000-£75,000, this stunning model is entered from The Loch Lomond Collection, which is made up of fully restored examples of predominantly 1950s, ‘60s, and ‘70s classics.

Following the completion of a comprehensive restoration, this E-Type was a regular attendee of Concours d’Elegance events with the Jaguar Drivers’ Club, being awarded 1st Class awards in E-Type Classes at the 1990, 1993 and 1996 events, as well as 2nd Class in 2000.

A home market manual example, it also boasts matching chassis, engine and gearbox numbers and is supplied with an extensive history file, the JDHT certificate and previous concours certificates.

James McWilliam, sales manager at H&H Classics, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to auction this extraordinary pair of winning classic Jaguars.

“They’ll be in great company as the auction also contains a first-rate selection of other rare and low mileage examples.”

Also being entered from The Loch Lomond Collection is an exquisite 1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 FHC, estimated at £90,000-£110,000. It has been lavished with an exhaustive restoration at the cost of some £185,000 by Jaguar aficionados M&C Wilkinson.

Meanwhile, a third entry from The Loch Lomond Collection is a 1954 Austin-Healey 100/4 ‘M’-Spec, which has been given a guide price of £40,000-£50,000.

It has been comprehensively restored and uprated to ‘M’-specification to the cost of some £77,000 and is offered with a large history file and over 200 photographs documenting the exhaustive restoration.

All lots will be available to view in person at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton from midday on Tuesday 29th July and from 9am on Wednesday 30th July, while the sale then commences at 12pm later the same day. Anyone looking to bid can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid.
