Desirable historic motorsport models are set to get pulses racing when they go under the hammer with H&H Classics at its upcoming Millbrook Sale.
The auction takes place on Wednesday 3rd December at the historic Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, the second time it has hosted an H&H Classics auction this year.
One of the stand out and oldest motorsport lots being offered is an extremely rare 1935 Singer Nine TT Team Car, one of just four special cars built that year to participate in international competition.
The Singer with an ‘AVC’ number plate, is estimated at £60,000-£80,000 and was a competitor in the 1935, 1937, 1938 and 1939 Le Mans 24-hours races.
It is an important piece of the UK’s motorsport heritage and has been in single family ownership for more than 30 years.
Meanwhile, a trio of motorsport cars, and one rally car, from the 1960s are also set to be auctioned.
Not least is a ready to race 1965-Type Lola T70 MkII Spyder, subject to a comprehensive restoration completed this year and given a guide price of £170,000-£210,000.
Stunning to look at, it is fitted with a Chevrolet ‘small block’ engine, while being eligible for some of the world’s most iconic historic motor racing events, plus it has a valid FIA HTP until 2036.
James McWilliam, sales manager at H&H Classics, said: “It’s a pleasure for H&H Classics to auction some truly outstanding historic race cars, including a notable entry from this country’s motorsport past, at our Millbrook Sale.”
Corvette enthusiasts have the chance to bid on a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Competition Coupe which has been a previous competitor at the Goodwood Revival, Le Mans Classic and Silverstone Festival.
Estimated to fetch between £60,000-£70,000, it is also eligible for entry into a range of esteemed historic motor racing events.
A 1962 Turner Mk2 Race Car is also going under the hammer, estimated at £30,000-£34,000. Ready to race, with all belts, fire extinguishers and fuel tank valid for the upcoming race season, it is ideal for entry into historic motorsport.
The fourth entry from the same decade is a 1966 Ford Mustang ‘Rally Car’ which has been fitted with a new 289-cubic-inch (4.7-litre) V8 engine with an overhauled automatic gearbox.
Given a guide price of £28,000-£32,000, this rally-prepared Mustang was acquired in 2017 as a standard road car before being converted into a long-distance historic rally car. It is eligible for a wide range of events and is perfect for either newcomers or experienced crews.
James added: “This is an exceptionally strong and varied catalogue, bringing together rare pre-war machinery and some of the most desirable competition cars of the 1960s. Whether you’re a seasoned historic racer or a first-time entrant to the sport, there is something here to excite every enthusiast. We’re looking forward to welcoming bidders to Millbrook for what promises to be a fantastic sale.”
All lots will be available to view in person at the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire from midday on Tuesday 2nd December and from 9am on Wednesday 3rd December, while the sale then commences at 12pm later the same day. Anyone looking to bid on one of the lots can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid.
