H&H Classics has achieved a 90 per cent sales rate at its latest classic motorcycle and vintage scooter auction with almost 210 lots hammered away. The results extend the company’s achievements which have seen it successfully hammer away 91 per cent of all the motorcycles and scooters offered in 2025, for a total value of £3.6 million.
The latest sale took place on Wednesday 29th October at the National Motorcycle Museum and saw total sales in excess of £900,000, more than £162,000 over the combined lower estimates of all the lots.
There was high interest among enthusiasts and collectors from within the auction hall, on the phones and on-line, not least for an extremely low-mileage, and eye-catching, 2004 Panzer-Paughco “Captain America” Chopper that found a new home for £31,625, more than twice its lower estimate.
However, this was matched by a 1924 Henderson Deluxe, offered from more than 75-years of single-family ownership, which was also hammered away for £31,625, again more than double its lower estimate.
Meanwhile, one of Barry Sheene’s early race bikes, a 1967 Bultaco TSS 250 Type 41, ridden when new by the legendary champion, was auctioned for £18,400, almost £4,500 above its lower estimate.
Mike Davis, senior motorcycle specialist at H&H Classics, said: “We’ve had some great successes in 2025, achieving consistently high sales rates, so it’s very pleasing that we’ve continued this trend with our final classic motorcycle and vintage scooter this year.”
Other notable sales at the auction included a matching numbers 1959 BSA A10 Super Rocket being sold for £13,800, more than £10,500 above its lower estimate, no doubt the fact it was winner of the ‘Public Choice Award’ at the 2012 Stafford Show adding to its appeal.
Also performing well was an exceptionally original 1923 Triumph SD, complete with an extremely rare Hopley folding sidecar, which was hammered away for £16,675, more than £9,600 above its lower estimate, while a stunning 1968 Triumph TR6C Trophy, was sold for £12,305, more than £7,800 above its lower estimate.
Strong results for more modern bikes was also evident with a 1994 Ducati 916 Strada Monoposto which was auctioned for £14,950, almost £7,000 above its lower estimate. It has just two former owners and shows a mere 1,101 miles from new.
Additionally, another bike offered from long term single ownership, 60 years this time, was a 1951 Vincent Comet Series C. It was hammered away for £12,362, more than £6,300 above its lower estimate.
Highlights among the vintage scooter sales included a ‘no expense spared’ 1966 Lambretta Li125 (225) SX200 Evocation which sold for £9,430, nearly £5,000 more than its lower estimate.
