H&H CELEBRATES FIFTEEN YEARS OF IWM DUXFORD AUCTIONS WITH A BUMPER, TWO-DAY AUCTION
A 200 PLUS CAR SALE HELD ON OCTOBER 19TH AND 20TH

The plan was always to split the sale with the second day being dedicated to H&H’s new ‘Fast Road’ initiative whereby buyers are presented with a selection of drivers’ cars the like of which have been gracing the big and small screens since the 1960s.
However, the inclusion of two single-owner, no reserve collections in the first day’s sale saw entries swell above 160 at which point Managing Director Colette McKay made the decision to cap the number going under the hammer each day. Her reasoning being as follows: ‘As a team we love the buzz of a live auction but are also conscious that it should be as enjoyable an experience as possible for our clients and not an endurance event. We know from past experience that rostrum marathons can lead to buyer ennui something we are always keen to avoid!’
Entries range in age from a London to Brighton Run eligible 1903 Humberette 5hp Two-Seater through to a 2014 Mitsubishi Evolution X FQ-440 MR that has had one owner and covered 1,800 miles from new. In terms of value, the high roller is a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 finished in Gold (the same colour as the original Dinky model of James Bond’s similar steed) with a guide price of £450,000 - £550,000.
Lots offered on Wednesday October 19th will range from 1-100+. Those going under the hammer on Thursday 20th will run from 200 onwards for the more traditional entries and from 300 for the ‘Fast Road’ cars. Viewing for both sales will commence at 12pm on Tuesday October 18th
To celebrate fifteen years of H&H Duxford auctions and to mark the inaugural ‘Fast Road’ sale there will be a brief Drinks Reception before the first Fast Road car crosses the block at 3pm with all those in attendance welcome.
