A 2010 Bentley Brooklands Coupé, previously owned by Jay Kay of Jamiroquai fame, is set to hit the right note when it goes under the hammer with H&H Classics.
Estimated at £120,000-£140,000, the low-mileage, and excellently presented example, will be auctioned on Wednesday 17th June at Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire.
The sale comes at a time when Jamiroquai, among the most influential and best-selling British bands of recent decades, is reported to be preparing its first studio album in nearly ten years.
Jay Kay, a passionate collector of highly desirable and exquisite cars, owned the Bentley from 2019 to 2021, taking ownership when the car was still almost showroom-fresh, having covered only 7,311 miles from new at the time.
Paul Cheetham, senior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, said: “Jay Kay is clearly a car connoisseur because he knew the Bentley Brooklands Coupé was one of the best automobiles on the market at the time.”
Still low-mileage, showing just 11,381 miles when it was serviced in January, Jay Kay’s former Bentley is also one of only 105 Brookland Coupés supplied in right-hand drive.
An exclusive car, it was tailor-made to the first owner’s desired specification, being finished in Peacock Blue with a Cotswold leather interior. Among its many options were bright stainless-steel grilles and the Flying ‘B’ radiator mascot.
It has also enjoyed an exemplary service history and is offered for sale with a fantastic history file.
Paul added: “With only around 500 Bentley Brooklands Coupés in circulation, the opportunity to acquire one as excellent as this may not arise again.
“In virtually every respect, it is still like new, and we are in no doubt that it has concours-winning potential.”
All lots, including the Bentley once owned by Jay Kay, will be available to view in person at Kelham Hall, Newark, from midday on Tuesday 16th June and from 9am on Wednesday 17th June while the sale then commences at 12pm.
Anyone looking to bid on one of the lots can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid, while for more details about any of the cars or to register to bid, visit www.handh.co.uk.
