Lot details Registration No: OGX 37 Chassis No: 660956 Mot Expiry: None
According to its quoted chassis number (660956), this particular example was built to right-hand drive specification during 1952. Reputedly supplied new to Malta, the two-seater was first UK road registered as `OGX 37' on November 2nd 1953. Belonging to previous keeper Ralph Gibbs from 1968 - 1995 and pictured in the September 1975 issue of Jaguar Driver magazine, photos on file indicate that the XK120 has since been treated to an extensive bodywork restoration including a colour change from White to Silver Metallic. Uprated from steel to wire wheels, the Roadster has been further enhanced via the addition a five-speed manual gearbox, Le Mans-style fuel filler, electric cooling fan, flashing indicators and four-wheel disc brakes. Reportedly dry stored for the last few years, the Jaguar will need re-commissioning prior to road use. Repossessed by the police and being sold to satisfy a High Court Order, `OGX 37' is missing various items (driver's seat base, hood frame/cover, offside rear bumper over rider, chassis plate, body tag, number plates etc) but has the makings of a rewarding project.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
