Supplied new by Williams BMW of Liverpool 19 November 1980 to a Mr Lye of Southport, this 316 with the preferred larger capacity 1766cc engine has Sapphire Blue metallic paint and dark blue cloth interior and optional rev counter. Serviced every 12 months by Williams, the two-door right-hand drive car was retained until early 2002 when traded in for a new 3 Series. A fully stamped Service Book records around 44,000 miles of ownership.
During the brief second ownership of a Mrs Lyon from the Wirral the still original tyres were replaced for the first time at around 46,000 miles. In October 2003, it was purchased by the vendor whilst his Vitesse was restored. With work on the Triumph completed, the BMW, still with only 55,100 miles indicated when entered, is now surplus to requirements.
