Late entered, and therefore missing the deadline for inclusion in our printed catalogue for this sale, is a 1969-manufactured Ford Lotus Cortina Mk2, which is claimed by the entrant to be in good all round condition. The right-hand drive two-door is presented to totally standard Fomoco spec being painted in red with full webasto sunroof, Lotus steel wheels and hubcaps, and black leatherette interior.
The owner believes that the sports saloon has been in restored at some time, whilst on file with the car's paperwork, which includes an original green log book, are all MOTs going back to 1991 when the mileage recorded was 71,472. When entered for this sale, the odometer had only risen by 5530 miles in the past fourteen years to 77,472, which he reckons to be the genuine total mileage for the car from new. He was also hopeful that it will have been given a new MOT test pass prior to sale day and interested parties are advised to check out the latest certificate for themselves in our documents office at the auction.
Bodyshell, panels, paintwork, trim, electrical equipment and four-speed manual transmission are all rated by the vendor as being good. Whilst the Lotus Twin Cam motor has only done 100 miles, he claims, since having been given a £2500 rebuild by an Historic race team.
