Lot details Registration No: SBB666M Chassis No: 1M2599 Mot Expiry: April 2005
Daimler is Britain's oldest car company, started when Frederick Richard Simms' British Motor Syndicate set-up the Daimler Motor Company at Foleshill, Coventry, in 1896. Since then, the marque has been owned by BSA, Jaguar, BLMC and, today as a dormant Jag brand, by the Ford Motor Company. This Daimler DS420, a righthand drive limousine with Vanden Plas bodywork, was handbuilt in 1973.
The current condition of chassis and body panels are rated by the entrant as good with white paintwork good and the original grey interior also good. It is claimed that the Jaguar 4.2-litre 6-cylinder engine and automatic transmission are in good order and the electrical equipment is working well.
On file are former MOTs dating back to 1979, since when, having been little used, the luxury vehicle is claimed only to have been driven 26,000 miles. The 76,163 miles displayed on the odometer when entered for this sale are believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage since new for this limo which can seat up to seven people.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
