Lot details Registration No: RPV135J Chassis No: GHD5-231056 Mot Expiry: June 2008
Introduced in 1965, the MGB GT was a more comfortable and versatile proposition than its roadster sister. With a top speed of over 100mph courtesy of their 1798cc, B-series engine and a capable chassis featuring independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering and disc / drum brakes, each version merited the old MG marketing slogan 'Safety Fast'. Today they both enjoy a strong following and have spawned a dedicated support industry making them among the most practical and cost effective of all classic cars.
This example is described as being in good condition throughout by the present owner and vendor and indeed there are apparently invoices for over £12000 with the car. It had a Power-Tec engine fitted in September 2001 when the odometer was showing 48,628 miles and it comes with Minilite wheels and a Webasto sunroof. It naturally has the 1798cc four cylinder petrol engine which is connected to the four speed manual gearbox with overdrive and it is currently tested until June next year.
Finished in red RPV135J seems to be a very sound example that has had a lot of money spent on it and would make an ideal starter classic.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
