Lot details Registration No: PSY 440 Chassis No: 24619 Mot Expiry: May 2009
Finished in Desert Sand with khaki upholstery, this late entry Hotchkiss M201 Jeep is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis and wheels / tyres (while, he rates the bodywork and paintwork as "average"). Reportedly, the subject of a restoration since entering the current ownership in 1996, `PSY 440' is said to have covered approximately 1200 miles over the last twelve years (a figure substantiated by various old MOTs). Arriving at the sale under its own power, the Jeep is understood to "drive very well". Very similar to the Willys WW2 design, the Hotchkiss retains a number of period features including "an original hood / sidescreens, radio aerial, camo-net, jerry cans and axe etc" (much of which can be viewed in the Documents Office). Further benefiting from canvas seats, half doors and safety straps, the 4x4 is eligible for historic class (free) road tax. Great fun, this evocative Jeep is offered for sale with sundry restoration photos, some spares and MOT certificate valid until May 2009.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
