Lot details Registration No: YNB314M Chassis No: XA2W298349A Mot Expiry: Sept 2013
The square-jawed Mini Clubman Saloon was originally penned by ex-Ford stylist Roy Haynes as a replacement for the Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet, while the Clubman Estate was slated to succeed the Countryman and Traveller. However, a change of plan saw both round and square nosed Minis produced concurrently, until the Clubman range gave way to the Metro.
The Estate on offer is a 998cc example that was first registered in August, 1973. It is finished in Blue complemented by Yellow vinyl upholstery and Beige carpets. According to the vendor, it has been retained by one family from new and there are only two names on the log book - father and son. After many years of dry storage, it has been treated to a couple of new body panels and a rear sub-frame, followed by a respray. The brightwork has also been refreshed and new brakes, tyres and exhaust system fitted. The interior on the other hand is apparently totally original and in "as new" condition. The vendor currently rates the Mini's engine, gearbox, bodywork and paintwork as "excellent" and tells us that it "drives superbly and handles well". He guarantees the indicated mileage of 43,100 is correct and is selling `YNB 314M' complete with an MOT valid into September 2013.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has an MOT until September 2013.
