Lot details Registration No: PJX 742 Chassis No: PIK4163BW Mot Expiry: July 2005
Motorcycle engineer Edward Turner designed the 2½-litre V8 which first powered the Daimler SP250 in 1959. This V8 250 saloon, a right-hand drive auto, was built in Coventry in 1969. For over twenty-one years, the four-door saloon has only had two previous keepers, spending most of this time with one of these owners.
Body panels are claimed currently to be in good shape, Old English White painted panels fair to good, original chromework showing its age though still in basically good condition, and both blue leather trim and woodwork inside also good - indeed, the rear seats look as though they have may not even have been sat in. The 2548cc eight-cylinder engine and three-speed automatic transmission are reportedly in good order.
The 58,850 mileage displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total. Not needing to be MOT tested again until next July with the tax disc valid until August 2005, this Daimler is said to be ready to drive and enjoy.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
