Last of the W113 line, the 280SL was launched in 1968. Blessed with the same effortlessly elegant Paul Bracq styling as its earlier siblings, it was powered by a new seven-bearing crankshaft 2781cc straight-six engine that developed some 180bhp and 193lbft of torque. Equipped with all round independent suspension and ATE disc brakes, its 'square' track gave notably sure-footed handling.
Finished in deep red with black leather interior, this left hand drive automatic transmission SL was imported into the UK from Japan in March 2014 and UK registered on arrival. Benefiting from the fitment of a new canvas hood the car is described as having "excellent" bodywork, paintwork and engine, with "good" electrics, transmission and interior trim. Currently registering some 67,000 miles on its odometer, this handsome Pagoda is offered with Swansea V5 document, current MoT certificate to 26th March 2015 and factory hard top.
