- Interesting restoration project
- Almost complete
- Some restoration completed several years ago
- Engine turns over
- Matching engine and frame numbers
- Believed to be the bike raced by Godfrey to third place in the 1914 Senior TT
PLEASE NOTE: The Indian comes with a V5 document showing registration B 190 and engine /frame number 51 G 770.
The engine number is visible, and we have found a photograph of Oliver Godfrey sitting on the bike which clearly shows the registration number.
The 1914 official TT results show that Oliver Godfrey finished equal second in the senior race riding an Indian.
The HPI check shows that the machine was manufactured in 1914 and identified with the number 51 G 770.
Early Indians were not given a frame number, so it was common practice to identify the machine by its engine number.
With all the information we have there is a good possibility that the bike is genuine, but we can only state that it is believed to be the actual TT bike on which Oliver Godfrey finished equal second in the 1914 Senior TT race.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
