Lot details Registration No: 923 BXP Chassis No: 107062B-W Mot Expiry: Jan 2006
This Jaguar MK2 2.4, a right-hand drive four-door, first left the factory in 1961. According to the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club/Footman James condition form in the documents file, 923 BXP was in receipt of an extensive restoration in 2002. We understand that renovation work to the shell included the replacement of the door bottoms, inner sills, front valance and cross-member.
The body was in receipt of a full respray in the current light blue metallic with the underbody areas rust proofed and undersealed, while both front and rear bumpers and over-riders have been rechromed. A full Aldridge leather retrim in biscuit was carried out with matching carpets and boot trim renewed and the clock replaced. The roof lining was renewed, the sun visors recovered and all rubber seals replaced at this time. The woodwork is still original, says the vendor, and is in good patinated condition.
Mechanical work has included reconditioning of the three-speed automatic transmission at the end of 1999 and, more recently, a brakes overhaul and reconditioning the cooling system. The 2480cc six-cylinder engine is currently reportedly to be in very good condition. MOT will be valid until next February.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
