Alfa Romeo's credentials as a genuinely sporting manufacturer has been well earned from almost continuous involvement in competition from 1911until the present day. Alfas have competed in F1 under their own name as well as powering Brabhams, long distance sports and GTs. Nowadays part of the Fiat empire, Alfa is still being shown the chequered flag in top-flight Continental Touring Car events.
This Alfa, a Pininfarina styled Series 4 spider made in 1992, has been attractively finished in metallic Bordeaux with tan suede and vinyl interior, and sits on alloys, and has the benefit of a fully stamped up service book The right-hand drive car drives really well, says the vendor, and certainly feels like a relatively low mileage spider should. From the entries in the service booklet, the 74,850 kilometres displayed when entered for the sale is believed by the entrant to be the genuine total for the car.
The current condition of the bodyshell, above and below, is claimed to be very good, the paintwork and trim also good, and both the 1962cc four-cylinder motor and the five-speed manual transmission reportedly in very good order. The current MOT will be valid until next March.
