Lot details Registration No: XBY297F Chassis No: 4107437 Mot Expiry: April 2006
Offered here is a 1968 Bristol 410, a right-hand drive two-door, in green with black leather, which comes to auction today direct from a titled member of the Bristol Owners Club, in whose Bulletin 120 of spring 2001 one can read an account of a 3000 miles run to Budapest.
The Wiltshire enthusiast acquired it 21 February 2000 by when it had had six owners, the two previous ones being brothers. A wad of fifteen MOT Test certificates record mileage between 8 March 1989 and 15 July 2004 only amounting to 14,025 in fifteen years. Although the current certificate when entered would have expired 18 June 2005, the entrant has had the car tested again prior to the auction with the new certificate expiring on 25 April 2006.
There have been three registrations, the original PAP394F, 214 TPA cherished plate and the current XBY 297F. Despite the displayed mileage when entered being 27,082, the vendor reckons it is likely to have been driven 112,374 miles during the first sixteen years and will therefore have actually done 127,082 miles since new.
On file are some extremely detailed invoices recording a £3315 front suspension and brakes rebuild by marque specialist Spencer Lane-Jones as well as £500 worth of automatic transmission work. Currently, 5.2-litre eight-cylinder engine and three-speed auto-box are both reportedly in good order, although at some time it could do with a respray. Included are second set of chrome hubcaps, spare timber rail for above the dashboard, never unwrapped, and owner's handbook.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
