Lot details Registration No: HBM482T Chassis No: SRH36346 Mot Expiry: Nov 2005
It was in 1977 when the long-wheelbase Shadow was renamed the Silver Wraith II that the previous Shadow I became the Shadow II. At the same time, such improvements as rack and pinion steering, split-level air conditioning and a rather racy spoiler at the front were incorporated. A total of 8422 Shadow IIs were made, the car on offer being one of them.
Hand-built at the Rolls-Royce Crewe works in 1979, this right-hand drive four-door Shadow II saloon is finished in light blue metallic over silver with grey leather and carpets, which are said still to be as new. Privacy glass is fitted to the side and rear windows, while the radio is the original and the stereo system has been upgraded with remote control. The R-R alloys are also as new and are shod with handsome slim-band whitewalls. Having had a factory handling kit installed, HBM 482T is said to drive superbly.
In receipt of what is claimed by the entrant to be very good service history, with a large number of bills on file detailing work carried out, the car was last service at 102,000 miles. The 104,000 miles on the odometer when entered for this sale is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage for the car from new. It is hoped that the MOT will have been freshly renewed by sale day, so potential buyers are advised to check out the dating of the latest certificate in our documents office at the Buxton sale venue during viewing.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
