  • Original London (UK) Registered Lambretta
  • Buff log book
  • V5C and ready for the road
  • Comprehensively restored in 2007

The GP series was the final range of the now classic Lambretta. Designed by Bertone, they were the final incarnation of the Series 3 shape, but with a slightly shortened headstock tube, Black parts in place of chrome and a square headlamp shape for a more sleek look to enter the Lambretta into the 1970’s. Being offered with either a 125cc, 150cc, or 200cc engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox they were marketed as the ultimate machine for both serious long distance riding or just commuting to work.

This very presentable GP150 was first registered to a Mr Arthur Robert Tipper of 10 Northwood Road, Highgate, North London on the 23rd September of 1970 where it stayed until it moved to Whetstone in 1972. The machine then changed hands numerous times and remained in London and the South East of England, receiving a full restoration to it's original specification of White with Red Sidepanels and horncasting in 2007 and then subsequently being purchased by our vendor, a notable Lambretta collector himself, in 2009.

The scooter has, rather refreshingly, remained in standard form with it's original 148cc cylinder, Dell-orto SH2/22 carburettor and original gearbox. The engine was comprehensively rebuilt at the time of restoration which included vapour blasting of the engine casing, new bearings and oil seals. Once the vendor had kicked the engine into life it settled to a pleasing idle and we checked all lights which appeared to function correctly. Being a British market GP150, the original 6v points ignition system also charges a 6 volt battery that appears to hold charge well and power the horn, brake light and parking light as Innocenti intended.

The paintwork, although still looking bright and fresh, is showing signs of ageing with a few marks and knocks here and there but is overall very useable and features a good amount of original panelwork which appears to fit nicely and also features an original Black plastic horn grille and toolbox which although aged, is noticeably original. The scooter features it's original toolbox lock with a remade key, however the ignition and steering locks are remade items along with the dip/main beam switch. The scooter features it's original Veglia 70mph speedometer that displays a total of 14,211 miles although this mileage is not warranted. We were pleased to find that the seat is an original Giuliari "coffin" seat that has been fitted with a remade seat cover. The inside of the leg-shields display a number of stickers and what is believed to be an original tax disc in a period style holder.

The scooter comes with it's original buff log book showing all owners up to 1976 and a stack of paperwork which includes works completed during restoration.
