Following the success of the Pantah racer in 1980 Ducati introduced the TT2 for the 1981 season. The new model marked the return of the factory as an official entry to international road racing and introduced cantilever rear suspension. The new frame design was the creation of Fabio Taglioni and manufactured by Verlicchi. In the hands of Tony Rutter the TT2 quickly established itself as the dominant force in the World Formula Two Championship, taking the title in 1981,'82 and '83. A threat hung over the TT2 class for 1984 prompting the development of the 750 TT1 to compete in the larger class and endurance racing.
This example of the TT1 is described by the vendor as being in good condition both mechanically and cosmetically although little is known of its history.
