The ultimate six-cylinder derivative of Mercedes-Benz's renowned R107-series, the 300SL debuted at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show. Only in production between 1985 and 1989, just 13,443 are thought to have been despatched worldwide.
Originally supplied by Woking Motors, this right-hand drive 300SL registers some 56,000 miles and is offered with a fully stamped service book. In the current ownership since 2010, we understand recent service works have been carried out by specialists John Haynes and Riverdale of Brighton. John Haynes also attended to the bodywork which the vendor now describes as "very good" whilst the wheels have been refurbished. Further described as having "very good" Arctic White paintwork and Grey sports check interior, the engine and gearbox are said to be "excellent". Offered with hardtop and Swansea V5 document showing just two former keepers, the R107 series Mercedes roadsters are rightly starting to become ever more collectable with cared for low mileage examples such as this being particularly sought after.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
